PICC line removal and dressings

What is everyone using for dressings after PICC removal? Betadine ointment is backordered at our facility, and it was brought to our attention that the INS standard has updated and removed ointment/petroleum after removal. Just wanted to get ideas of what everyone else is using.

No, the INS SOP did not

No, the INS SOP did not remove use of ointmet from CVAD removal, including PICCs. It is still there and very needed, although it can be any type of ointment. The language in the SOP is petroleum based ointment which would include plain vaseline, betadine, triple antibiotic, etc Infection prevention is not the goal. Sealing the puncture site is necessary and what the ointment does,
