How many PICCs should a 400 bed hospital place per year. I have heard that it should be about 5 X the number of beds that would be 2,000 PICCs per year. Is this published anywhere or as a reference?  It seems like some hospitals jsut put way to many in and others have room for improvement.Thanks for your help in advance!
